The US CIVIL DEFENSE CHAPLAINS CORPS was created in 2002 after the 911 events, Katrina, Rita and Wilma aftermath, by Chaplains who went to the disaster area with the expertise from federal and military chaplaincy, they assisted and worked among the search and rescue and emergency services personnel, American Red Cross and FEMA. This corps was inspired by the Chaplains trained during the cold war by the Office Of Civilian Defense. The Civil Defense had specialty track codes with similarities to the military occupational specialty codes, the Civilian Defense ranked and named the civilian volunteers as medical corps, engineers corps and chaplains corps etc.
